When people come and sit for their portraits, I ask that they bring personal items with them; photographs, clothing, or objects that can inspire a narrative or inform color and compositional decisions. Often these items become an integral part of the finished portrait. Sittings typically last around 2-3 hours and usually take place in my studio or your home, depending on what works best.

In making a portrait, I attempt to reveal something of the psychological and emotional depth of the individual, but also something more archetypal — what it means to be human — to have a past, passions, and a spirit.
